Thomas Pesquet
An engineer by training with a degree from Supaéro, he joined CNES, the French space agency, from 2002 to 2004, as a research engineer on the autonomy of space missions.
In 2006, he obtained his airline pilot license after completing Air France training. It was in May 2009 that he was selected to become an astronaut.
He joined ESA in September 2009 and completed his initial training in November 2010. Thomas followed additional technical and operational training in Europe, Russia and the United States.
He will carry out 2 missions in space in 2016 then in 2021 when he becomes the first French commander of the International Space Station (ISS).
He will be present at conferences and signing sessions.
