Viktor Kalvachev
Viktor Kalvachev is an American comic book author, who was nominated for the prestigious Eisner Award.
Born in 1972 in Varna, Bulgaria, he received a Master’s degree from the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia. He then moved to the USA to pursue a career in video games and comics. His work in teen gaming peaked when his team was nominated for Best Downloadable Game of the Year ( ‘ The Incredibles: Escape from Nomanisanisland”).
Viktor was a guest artist on the cult, Eisner winning series, Vertigo “DMZ”, Dan Bereton’s “Carnival of Beasts” and was featured in Penthouse magazine. In 2011 and 2012 he produced many DC Comics titles (Men of War, Unknown Soldier, Green Arrow, Frankenstein) and worked on the BPRD Mike Mignola Dark Horse. He is best known for his graphic novel series Pherone and Blue Estate (published in France by Ankama Edition) for which in 2012 he received two Eisner nominations for best colors and best covers.
As the creative director of the company He Saw, Viktor is also responsible for the fantastic rail shooter adaptation of ‘Blue Estate’.
